Nostril Rhinoplasty

Conveniently located to serve Houston & Sugar Land

Nostril rhinoplasty is a nose job that focuses entirely on improving the nostrils’ appearance and/or functionality. Most people think rhinoplasties always involve the entire nose, but they do not. These procedures can target a single part, mainly for patients who want great results without extensive downtime. If you want better-looking nostrils and improved airflow, you may need nostril rhinoplasty in Houston.

What Is Nostril Rhinoplasty?

Nostril rhinoplasty is often performed for people who are unhappy with how flared or wide their nostrils look or how asymmetrical they appear. Given that the nose is located right in the middle of the face, changing how it looks can enhance your appearance significantly. Others get the procedure to change their nostrils’ structure and help them breathe better.

Ideal Candidates

If you do not like the shape or size of your nostrils, you are a suitable candidate for nostril rhinoplasty. People with the following issues may be good candidates for the procedure:

  • Narrow nostrils
  • Large nostrils
  • Asymmetrical nostrils
  • Extremely prevalent nostrils
  • Barely visible nostrils

Candidates for the procedure must be in good health and must not have a medical condition that could increase the chance of complications. It is important to have realistic expectations in terms of results.

Your Nostril Rhinoplasty Consultation

During your nostril rhinoplasty consultation, Dr. Morgan Norris will ask about your medical history, including all current medications and herbal supplements. The two of you will also discuss your concerns about your nostrils and your expectations.

Next, Dr. Norris will create a surgical plan for your nostril rhinoplasty. He will discuss the details of the procedure, including preparation and benefits. Use this time to ask questions and voice any concerns. He will give instructions to prepare pre- and post-surgery.

The Procedure

There are two types of rhinoplasty: open and closed. During an open rhinoplasty, the incision will be created along the columella to provide better access to the nose’s structures. The columella is the external area of skin between the nostrils. During a closed rhinoplasty, tiny incisions will be made within the nostrils.

Whatever type of incisions your nostril rhinoplasty requires, you will need to go under general anesthesia. The procedure will require removing tissue and may involve placing grafts or sutures to change the shape of the nostrils.

The Recovery Process

After this form of rhinoplasty surgery, you might experience temporary mild to moderate discomfort, but you can address it with medication. Expect possible bruising around the eyes. You may need to wear splints both on the inside and outside of your nose for a few days to a week. The splints keep the cartilage and nasal bones safe while they heal.

You can facilitate your recovery by avoiding strenuous activities, such as swimming and jogging, for two to three weeks. It helps to refrain from wearing glasses for around four to five weeks.

The Cost of Nostril Rhinoplasty

The cost of getting nostril rhinoplasty varies depending on the surgeon’s fee, anesthesiologist’s fee, operating facility fees, splints, medicines, and other services. You will learn more about the price of the procedure during your consultation.
